Our Mission The mission of the McDowell County Sheriff's Department is to serve the citizens of McDowell, by protecting them from crime and keeping McDowell a safe place to reside.

The McDowell County Sheriff's Department honors the victims of the September 11, 2001 tragedy and supports The United States and their allies in their fight against terrorism

Our office is located on the bottom level of the County Commission building.
